The Laramie Human Rights 10k is a new race in Laramie and in Wyoming. The race has been designated as the RRCA State Championship race in 2015. The 10k course is certified by the Road Runners Club of America and takes runners through the Laramie tree area, past several of the local parks. Start and finish is at beautiful Undine Park in Laramie. Following the race, runners may relax and be served breakfast. Because everybody already has too many t-shirts, runners receive a running hat instead.
This race is a High Plains Harriers race, and members of this running club receive a $5 discount for registration. Proceeds of the race support the Wyoming Guatemala Accompaniment Project, a grassroots organization that serves as a sponsoring community for the Network of Solidarity for the People of Guatemala (NISGUA). We work to support Guatemalan human rights defenders and are committed to solidarity with communities resisting resource extraction and working for justice for genocide.
